Patek Philippe Beta 21The 1969 introduction of the Seiko Astron, the worlds first commercially available quartz wristwatch, sent tremors throughout the industry. In a struggle to keep pace with the new technology, the big Swiss watch manufacturers banded together to develop their own quartz movement, which could be used by watches from the different brands. The resulting production movement, the Beta 21, was an electronic caliber featuring a quartz crystal beating at 8.

Broke upon second use

The umbrella never really opened right. I wasn't sure what the problem was, but today it's completely broken. The crank (which was installed incorrectly to begin with) doesn't do anything. I've only used it a couple of times, and I'm 2 days passed the return window. Very disappointing. It is nice looking though.
