Great book !

I just finished MAoS โ Malware Analysis on Steroids, and all I can say is: WOW.
This book operates on an entirely different level. Itโs not just technical knowledgeโitโs a complete shift in how you think about malware, reverse engineering, and real-world offensive/defensive operations.
The way Uriel breaks down complex concepts makes you feel understood as a practitioner, while pushing you to see the deeper mechanics behind every technique. Every chapter forced me to rethink things I didnโt even realize I needed to refine. Itโs rare to find a book that is both this practical and this transformative.
What I loved most is how hands-on, deep, and empowering the material is. This isnโt a book you skim. I had to stop multiple times just to take notes because the insights were that valuable. It teaches you to think like a real analystโbeyond theory, beyond static patterns, straight into the mindset of true malware research.
If you want clarity, breakthroughs, and a genuine upgrade in your technical intuitionโthis is the book to read.
Honestly grateful I picked it up. Highly recommended.

Too many screenshot, not detail explain enough, like a lab manual than a book

Not recommended this book.
This book is approximately 270 pages long, but around 200 pages are comprised of screenshots, including IDA Pro screenshots, Virustotal result screens, lists of function names, and lists of DLL file names.
This book primarily shows you how to use the tools, which are illustrated mainly through screenshots of the tools' screens and results.
This is a well-structured lab manual that guides you through all the necessary screens and steps to locate the flag.
However, there are too many screenshots, and the concept is not explained in detail.
It is expected that you will have a basic understanding to follow the lab manual.
And this is not colour printing, and the photo was resized, making it a bit hard to read the screenshot details.
If you are at the GREM level, you may already be familiar with using the tools.
Unless you want a quick refresher on your lab skills.

MAoS - Malware Analysis on Steroids: Fighting Malware to the Death - Real-World Threats and Reverse Engineering Tactics by Uriel Kosayev is an outstanding and highly informative book. This is the second book Iโve read from him, after Antivirus Bypass Techniques, and once again I found the content to be extremely practical, well-structured, and insightful. Uriel has a way of explaining complex malware analysis and reverse engineering concepts in a way that is both approachable and deeply technical. The real-world tactics and examples make it not just a book you read once, but a reference youโll return to often. Without a doubt, another excellent resourceโIโm giving it 5 stars.
